Community Information Update

We’re enjoying growing interest in parq Vancouver among future guests from near and far, and our friends and neighbours here in our local community.

With two luxury hotels, eight restaurants and lounges, a world-class casino, a naturally curated 30,000 square feet outdoor urban park oasis, and conference space offering Vancouver’s largest hotel ballroom, parq Vancouver is a multi-faceted project and the largest private development in Western Canada. We want parq Vancouver to be perfect for our future guests and the surrounding community, and perfection takes time. As a result, we anticipate parq Vancouver opening in the Fall of 2017.

As construction is ongoing, we continue to work with Marriott Hotels who will present Western Canada’s first JW Marriott Hotel and a new Autograph Collection Hotel, “the DOUGLAS”, here at parq Vancouver. Combined, the two hotels will offer 517 rooms and the most diverse array of suites of any hotel in Vancouver, offering guests luxurious unprecedented accommodation options.

parq’s dining and lounge offerings will include a farm-to-table restaurant showcasing fresh local ingredients; a signature rooftop restaurant offering contemporary and seasonally inspired dishes featuring carefully sourced ingredients; an impeccable yet approachable Chinese restaurant featuring dishes from China’s four culinary regions; a creative and comforting neighbourhood tavern, an outdoor lounge in a spectacular park setting among other memorable experiences.

Development Permit

The City of Vancouver has issued a development permit for parq Vancouver’s new urban resort, at 39 Smithe Street, confirming that all prior conditions have been met including Social Policy, Urban Design, Planning and Engineering conditions. This is consistent with rezoning approval granted by Council in 2011.

We are excited to move forward to create a new urban entertainment resort that will dazzle our guests and make Vancouver proud when it opens in late 2016.

We look forward to sharing more details on our partners, design and décor, restaurants, programs and other details in the coming months on a new website currently in development. We are working to strike the perfect balance to reflect our spectacular natural local environment and the elegant glamour of world’s best resorts.

In the meantime, construction work will continue in compliance with the City’s relevant bylaws.

Form of Development Approved

At its regular council meeting on January 20, 2015, Vancouver City Council unanimously approved the form of development for the Vancouver urban resort project. This is an important project milestone, as it confirms City Council is satisfied the proposed building’s design accords with all relevant City bylaws, guidelines and official development plans. City Council’s approval of the form of development was a pre-condition to the issuance of a development permit for the above-ground portion of the project, and the project team is focused on satisfying as soon as possible the remaining conditions necessary for the development permit to be issued.

About the Project

Site 10A is the official City of Vancouver site designation for parq Vancouver, which will be adjacent and complementary to BC Place, facing the Cambie Street Bridge. It will feature two luxury hotels, over 60,000 square feet of event and conference facilities, an elevated sixth floor park, eight restaurants and lounges, and a new home for the relocation of the Edgewater Casino.
